Loidymar es cofundadora y gerente de programas de La Tejedora. Es una joven afro-puertorriqueña, graduada en Ciencias Políticas con especialización en Gobierno, Derecho y Política Pública por la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Produjo el documental “El Último Timbre”, una película que aborda el cierre masivo de escuelas y las medidas de austeridad impuestas por la ley PROMESA. En los últimos años, trabajó en Open Society Foundations, donde coordinó y apoyó a jóvenes becaries de entre 18 y 35 años en la ejecución de proyectos comunitarios enfocados en la justicia social y los derechos humanos en el archipiélago de Puerto Rico. Está comprometida con el proceso de autodeterminación de Puerto Rico, así como con los derechos sexuales y reproductivos, la justicia racial y la equidad de género. Actualmente ha recibido capacitaciones en organización comunitaria y se ha destacado como lider y mentora de jóvenes. En su tiempo libre disfruta de ir a la playa con sus amigues, practicar yoga y disfrutar con su perrita Piru.

Loidymar Duprey González is co-founder of La Tejedora and Program Manager. She is a young Afro-Puerto Rican, graduated with a degree in Political Science with a major in Government, Law and Public Policy from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. She produced the documentary “El Último Timbre”, a film about the massive closing of schools and austerity measures imposed by the PROMESA law. For the past years she worked at Open Society Foundations, United States where she coordinated and accompanied young fellows between the ages of 18-35 in carrying out community projects that work for social justice and human rights on the archipelago of Puerto Rico. She performed as grantmaker and strategist for the PR Project. Her commitment is to human rights, advocacy and activism. Some of her topics of interest are the human right to a self-determination process for Puerto Rico, sexual and reproductive rights, racial justice and gender equity. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, spending time with her dog, poetry, and going to the beach with friends.
